UNESCO RCQE Participates in International Education and Youth Engagements on the Margins of the 81st United Nations General Assembly
The UNESCO Regional Center for Quality and Excellence in Education (RCQE) participated in a series of international events and dialogues held in New York on the margins of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly, during a week that brought together representatives from the United Nations system, international organizations, education and development institutions, youth networks, and the private sector.
The participation provided an important opportunity to engage with global discussions on the future of education, quality learning, youth skills development, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, green education, and sustainability, while exploring how education and skills systems are responding to rapidly evolving technological, economic, and social trends.
RCQE also engaged with a range of international institutions and networks to exchange perspectives and experiences, introduce the Center’s work and priorities in advancing quality, excellence, and innovation in education, and explore opportunities for future collaboration, knowledge exchange, and partnership.
As part of its participation, the Center also promoted the Global Youth Network for Quality and Excellence, an initiative designed to strengthen youth engagement and connect young people with researchers, practitioners, and institutions working to advance quality and innovation in education. Discussions held during the week contributed to expanding awareness of the Network and opening channels of communication with international organizations and youth networks that can be further developed in the coming period.
The Global Youth Network for Quality and Excellence in Education (GYNQE) was also featured in the official newsletter of the United Nations Youth Office (UN Youth Office), which reaches more than 50,000 young people worldwide.

The participation further highlighted the importance of positioning education quality and youth empowerment within broader global conversations on the future of skills, employment, and sustainable development. It also reinforced the need to strengthen pathways between learning and opportunities for young people and to harness innovation and emerging technologies in support of more inclusive, responsive, and future-ready education systems.
UNESCO RCQE’s participation forms part of its broader efforts to expand international cooperation, engage with global knowledge and practice, and strengthen partnerships that can contribute to advancing quality and excellence in education across the Arab region and beyond.
